Haki (覇気Haki?, literally meaning "Ambition") is a mysterious power that is found in every living being in the world.
It is not that different from the normal senses. However, most people
do not notice it or fail to awaken it. Broadly, there are two types of
Haki common to everyone, given the proper training; however, there is a
third type that only a certain group of "chosen ones" are said to
possess.[1][2] In simple terms, Haki is an ability to sense spiritual energy and overpower enemies.
About
“
"Haki"
is a power that lies dormant in all the world's creatures...
"Presence", "fighting spirit" and "intimidation"... It is not different
from the things that humans can naturally sense such as these... 'The
act of not doubting'. That is strength!
”
— Silvers Rayleigh explaining Haki to Luffy at the start of his training.
Haki, unnamed at the time, was first seen when Shanks used it against the Lord of the Coast to save Luffy when he was a child from the wrath of the Sea King.[3] The term "Haki" was first coined and used much later when Blackbeard was commenting on Luffy's bounty in Jaya,[4] and was hinted at during Shanks' visit with Whitebeard.[5]
The underlying concepts of Haki were introduced during the Sabaody Archipelago and Amazon Lily Arcs.[6] The concept was clearly explained by Rayleigh to Luffy at the start of the latter's training on Rusukaina Island.[2]
Haki is dormant in every living person, but it's rare for most
people to ever awaken that ability. Intense training can awaken it, as
can extreme shock, such as with Coby during the Battle of Marineford. Two known people (Aisa and Otohime) were born with the ability.
Due to the fact that Haki originates from an individual's spirit and not their body, even if the user's spirit is transferred into another body, they are still capable of using Haki as if they were in their original body.[7]
Known Users
So far the characters who have clearly shown the use of Haki or have been stated to be able to use it are:
Haki is separated into three categories, or "colors": Kenbunshoku Haki, which grants users a sixth sense of the world around them and limited precognitive abilities[19]; Busoshoku Haki, which allows the user to use their spirit as armor to defend against attacks or to make their own attacks more potent; and Haoshoku Haki,
a rare type of Haki only one in a million can use which grants the user
the ability to overpower the will of others. Most people who can use
Haki tend to have a type they are better at and as a result focus on
that type. However, a person can improve their abilities with all the
types of Haki, it just requires more work.[2]

Japanese Name:

Romanized Name:
Kenbun-shoku no Haki, Mantora
English Name:
Color of Observation Haki (Viz);
Observation Haki (FUNimation);
Mantra
Kenbunshoku Haki, also known as Mantra on Skypiea,
is a form of Haki that allows the user to sense the presence of others,
even if they are concealed from view or too far to see naturally. With
enough skill, one can use this Haki to predict an opponent's moves
shortly before they make them, thereby making the attack that much
easier to evade. This prediction appears to the user as an image or
brief "premonition" of what the opponent will do in the user's mind's eye,
and the damage the user will take if the attack actually "hits". It
appears that the more killing intent the enemy has, the easier they are
to predict. Although, more skilled users can predict future moves
whether there are ambient murderous intents or not.[2]
In the Viz Manga, this is called Color of Observation Haki and in the FUNimation subs, is called Observation Haki.
It was first introduced under the name Mantra when Satori used it to fight Sanji, Luffy, and Usopp as they went through the Ordeal of Balls.[20]Aisa is the only known Shandian
who has this ability. It served as a plot point when she helped Luffy
locate Enel. It varied in strength between users, with Enel's seemingly
being the strongest. With his Devil Fruit, the Goro Goro no Mi,
Enel could pick up electromagnetic waves, allowing him to overhear
conversations and everything around him; this extended the range of his
Mantra to cover roughly all of Skypiea.[21] By comparison, most of the other priests could only keep track of people nearby.
The first time it was seen being used and referred to as Haki was
during Luffy's battle on Amazon Lily with the Boa Sisters. Later,
Rayleigh explained Haki to Luffy and confirmed that "Mantra" is the
Skypiean name for the ability.
Though the power allows the user to predict most attacks, it can
be circumvented by various means. It cannot predict inherently random
attacks; for example, Luffy managed to bypass Enel's Mantra by bouncing
his fists off a nearby wall, to prevent himself and thus Enel from
knowing where they would land. Tying in with the inability to detect
random attacks, Kenbunshoku Haki seems to be linked to the target's own
awareness of themselves and their surroundings. Enel failed to discern
the presence of Luffy inside the giant snake Nola,
only detecting him after he escaped. Similarly, Aisa could not detect
how the battle was progressing with her Mantra while inside Nola and
only found out what happened after she and Luffy escaped. It also does
not make the user any faster than normal, so the user's ability to dodge
is dependent on their speed; Enel was unable to avoid Luffy's finishing
move because it was moving too fast, even though he was able to predict
it. Likewise, Luffy's Gear Second was able to outpace Boa Sandersonia,
despite her ability to read his moves. It also seems to falter if the
user loses their concentration. Satori lost the control of his Mantra
when Luffy unexpectedly brought the string of exploding balls right to
him, enabling Luffy to grab him from behind when the smoke cleared, and
Gedatsu lost to Chopper because he lost his concentration and his Mantra
faltered.
This type of Haki can also allow to user to sense the emotions
and nature of others. For example, Otohime used this Haki to sense sense
the sufferings and emotions in the heart of a fishman thief and Aisa
was able to sense Wiper's aggressive nature with this Haki.
It appears it's also possible for the user of this Haki to sense
the strength of others as well. This was shown when Rayleigh used this
Haki to sense that there were 500 creatures on Rusukaina who were
stronger than Luffy at that time.
Known Kenbunshoku Haki Users
So far, these are the only people confirmed to be able to use this type of Haki.
Busoshoku Haki allows the user to create a force similar to an invisible armor around themselves.[2] Similar to Tekkai,
this allows the user to defend against attacks that would otherwise
cause them harm. Only significant physical force can overcome this
defense; for example, Luffy striking Boa Marigold hard enough with Gear Second techniques to send her reeling.
In the Viz Manga this is called Color of Arms Haki and in the FUNimation subs is called Armament Haki.
Naturally this "invisible armor" can be used as a weapon to
strike others with. It can be used to augment the user's own attacks,
projected ahead of the user as pure brute force, or imbued in weapons to
increase their effectiveness. Any attack enhanced by Busoshoku Haki
hits immensely harder than it would normally be without it. The Kuja's Haki-imbued arrows, for example, are capable of penetrating solid stone.[12]
Vergo's body after hardening it.
This type of Haki also has the ability to bypass the powers of a
Devil Fruit user, touching the "substantial body" beneath whatever
protection the fruit provides, such as the case of body-altering Devil
Fruits such as Logia users. However, unlike seastone it does not negate a user's Devil Fruit powers, allowing them to defend themselves, and continue fighting normally.[31]
By the same effect, Haki can also be used as a higher level of
offensive, more so than just bypassing a foe's Devil Fruit powers. It
can be used to harden parts of one's body, turning the area black,
making the user denser and more formidable, and giving their attacks
greater power. This was first used by Luffy to harden his arm and later
his forehead, a technique he called Busoshoku Koka. This technique
wasn't seen again until Vergo used it on Punk Hazard, followed shortly thereafter by Smoker.[32][33]
Busoshoku Haki works independently of the user's Devil Fruit, as
shown when Luffy uses it to enhance his Gear Third attack underwater.[34]
This type of Haki may not be equipped to attacks that are not from
one's body except for weapons, or anything generated from one's own body
(like Kizaru's laser beams, Marco's
flames or any other energy/non-solid attacks based on Devil Friuts).
So, those who attack with parts of their body can combine their Haki and
Devil Fruit powers.
Techniques
Luffy's arm after hardening it.
Busoshoku: Koka (武装色 硬化Busō-shoku: Kōka?, Color of Armaments: Hardening):
This technique somehow uses Busoshoku Haki to harden the body (or parts
of it) and weapon which the user is holding. It was first seen used by Monkey D. Luffy, in combination with Gear Third,
in order to use his Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun against the Kraken. The
arm became black and shiny and notably did not cause the usual side
effect for Gear Third on release. Vergo, Smoker and Zephyr
are able to either use this technique or do something similar to it as
they have demonstrated an exact likeliness to this Haki technique;
Zephyr had earned the nickname "Black Arm" because of his mastery of
such a usage. It can also be imbued into weapons, as Vergo utilized it
on a bamboo stick,[35] and Smoker on his Nanashaku Jitte, the latter indicating Busoshoku Haki can be used in conjuncture with Kairoseki. Also called Buso Koka (武装 硬化Busō Kōka?, Armament Hardening) by Luffy when he uses advanced form of Gomu Gomu no Gatling. In the Viz Manga, it is called Color of Arms Hardening and FUNimation subs, it is called Armament: Hardening.
Atama Buso (頭武装Atama Busō?, Head Armament):
Used by Luffy, he imbues his forehead with Busoshoku: Koka to harden
it. This is first used in preparation for a Gomu Gomu no Kane against
the Iron Shell Squadron. In the FUNimation subs, it is called Head: Hardening.
Gear Second Buso (ギア2(セカンド)武装Gia Sekando Busō?, Gear Second Armament): Used by Luffy, he imbues his fist with Busoshoku: Koka while under the effect of Gear Second
to harden it, which also seems to have the added effect of igniting it.
It was first used in preparation for Gomu Gomu no Red Hawk against Hody Jones. In the FUNimation subs it is called Second Gear: Armament.
Known Busoshoku Haki Users
So far, these are the only people confirmed to be able to use this type of Haki.
Haoshoku Haki is a rare form of Haki that cannot be attained
through training and only one in a million people carry it. It was first
demonstrated by Shanks, when he used it to scare off a Sea King.
Later on, during a meeting with Whitebeard, he used it to knock out
most of the crew, which the few still standing attributed to his
superior Haki.[2] Luffy first displayed the effects of this type of Haki against Duval's bull, Motobaro,
much to everyone's confusion. He displayed it again on Amazon Lily
while battling the Boa sisters, knocking out a large portion of the
audience observing the match. This is also the first time it is referred
to by name.[1]
Luffy's exhibition of it during the Marineford War was enough for the
Marine admirals to become wary enough of him that they prioritized his
elimination afterwards.
In the Viz Manga, this is called Color of the Supreme King. In the FUNimation subs, this is called Conqueror's Haki.
After the timeskip, Luffy is proficient enough to tame monsters,
as well as knock out a selected group of individuals without affecting
any of the bystanders using Haoshoku Haki, displaying his new-found
proficiency in the skill.
This type of Haki grants the user the ability to dominate the
wills of others. The most common usage in the series so far is knocking
those with weak wills unconscious.[5][52]
Whilst inexperienced users are restricted to merely overpowering the
will of one individual or blindly knocking out weak-willed people around
them, those with more expertise can pick out weak-willed individuals in
a large group and knock them out without affecting those around them.[6]
However, those with stronger wills can resist or even ignore the
effects of Haoshoku Haki. The ability to knock someone out depends on
the difference in strength between the person using Haki and the person
or persons the user is trying to knock out. The greater the power gap,
the easier it is to knock the victim out.[53]
According to Rayleigh, while this type of Haki cannot be attained
through training, it can be improved through training, as it grows as
the user's spirit grows. It seems that upon recovery, victims of
Haoshoku Haki experience the sensation of chills running through their
body. However, it presumably wears off after a short period.
Known Haoshoku Haki Users
So far, these are the only people confirmed to possess this type of Haki:
As promised, every Straw Hat returned to Sabaody Archipelago. Roronoa
Zoro was the first to arrive, next was Franky, then Nami, Usopp, Tony
Tony Chopper, Brook, Sanji, Nico Robin, and finally Monkey D. Luffy.
During their two year hiatus, they have undergone significant changes in
combat skills and appearance.
The Straw Hats' new look after 2 years.
These changes include:
Luffy has gained an X-shaped scar on the chest caused by Akainu
in Marineford. He also now wears a yellow sash, similar to Zoro's. He
has gained the use of the three forms of Haki, and has enhanced his
Devil Fruit powers to point of vulcanizing his rubber body, making it
extremely hard without losing its elasticity, and even being able to
generate explosions with the impact of his attacks.
Zoro has gained a scar over his left eye similar to
Rayleigh, as well as having gained more muscle. He now also wears a
green robe, instead of a shirt and pants, and a red sash. He has been
enhanced with stronger versions of his old techniques, developed a new
Three Swords Style Ultimate Technique and seems to have mastered his
"flying slash" attacks greatly. He learned how to use Haki, however, the
types of Haki he can use have yet to be seen.
Nami gained a more "developed" body, she has also let
her hair grow and obtained technology from Weatheria, including many
"Weather Balls". She has upgraded her Perfect Climatact to Sorcery
Climatact.
Usopp has developed a muscular body and has grown a
faint goatee, wearing a white hat with longer hair tied back, using
plants called "pop greens" as weapons and claims that he has become a
braver warrior. He now uses a smaller version of his Kabuto slingshot,
and has also replaced his pair of goggles.
Sanji's goatee grew significantly thicker, as well as a
soul patch with it, and a few mustache hairs. He revealed his left eye,
while covering his right eye with his hair. He is able to activate his
Diable Jambe, much faster and without having to spin, generating huge
amounts of flames and by angering (by remembering his painful stay in
Kamabakka Kingdom) he can now enter in a completely new form where his
whole body catches fire and is able to set fire to anything he kicks. He
has developed an ability to swim at very high speed using only his
legs, a flying ability similar to CP9's Geppou, and he has apparently
learned the Spectrum technique from Ivankov. He has also learned how to use Haki, displaying the use of Kenbushoku Haki when searching for Kin'emon's body.
Chopper's hybrid (half-man, half-reindeer) form has a
lighter fur tone compared to two years ago, and in his animal form he
appears as a fully grown reindeer. Another change is that he is wearing
some kind of helmet over his hat, giving him the appearance of wearing
an oversized baseball cap. He developed a new form named Kung Fu Point,
and has reinforced his Horn Point, his Guard Point has grown
dramatically in size and his Heavy Point has a greater amount of muscles
and fur. All of his 7 transformation points have been renewed and
reinforced and he is able to freely transform into 6 of them without a
Rumble Ball, requiring it only for the Monster Point form. He now has
full control over his Monster Point, although he can only be in that
state for three minutes before his body becomes weak for a couple hours
as a side effect.
Robin no longer has bangs and her hair is much longer.
It is pulled back with a pair of sunglasses resting at the top of her
forehead. She has mastered her Devil Fruit powers to the point of being
able to generate thousands of parts (generating gigantic limbs) of her
body and even able to bloom her entire body, thus cloning herself.
Franky has used the technology from Dr. Vegapunk's
research lab to develop a bigger and more advanced body (adding a
"BF-37" tattoo to symbolize the latest and greatest model, Battle Franky
37), his bulky arms with oval shape were replaced for square ones, and
he installed a device in his nose to control his hair. He now usually
goes with a shorter, buzz-cut hairstyle, but can revert to his old style
or change to a new one. His arsenal has increased in firepower as well;
he now has rocket launchers and a laser cannon (similar to that of
Pacifistas and Kizaru's Devil Fruit) at his disposal. He can also fight
inside a mecha that he developed.
Brook, who has replaced his gentleman-style outfit with
rockstar clothing, has gained notoriety as a famous musician with the
title of "Soul King". He has learned the true nature of his Devil Fruit
allowing him to put his body back together if the pieces get separated
and to separate his soul from his body (acting like a real ghost by
astral projection) and can "bring the very cold of the underworld"
improving his Fencing Style with freezing effects. He also improved his
musical ability, to the point where he can even hypnotize people.
Nico Robin (ニコ・ロビンNiko Robin?) serves as the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. She is originally introduced as the vice president of Baroque Works known as Miss All Sunday (ミス・オールサンデーMisu Ōrusandē?) before joining the Straw Hats. She is the seventh member of the crew, the sixth to join, and like Nami and Usopp , is also the second to rejoin, doing so near the end of the Enies Lobby Arc. Robin is also the first member to have been a former antagonist. She ate the Hana Hana no Mi. During the Post-War arc, she became involved with the Revolutionaries for two years. Her dream is to find the Rio Poneglyph which tells the True History. She currently holds a bounty of 80,000,000.
Appearance
Nico Robin is a tall, slender, yet athletic woman
with shoulder-length black hair. In the anime, her eyes are blue with
dark, wide pupils (brown eyes in the manga, the tenth and the twelfth movie),
and she has a long, thin and defined nose. In the anime, Robin's skin
tone is slightly darker unlike in manga colored artworks where it is
lighter. Robin also resembles her mother greatly, with the exception of
her hair color and style as well as having slightly darker skin tone
than her. Robin's limbs are very long, especially her legs, contributing
greatly to both her fighting capabilities (given the nature of her
powers) and overall height, and like most female characters in the
series, she has a narrow waist. Many people consider her to be very
attractive or beautiful, and she, along with Nami, is an eyecandy for fellow crewmember Sanji.
Before the Timeskip
She has no trademark looks like the others, though her all-purple
cowgirl look from when she was first introduced is often associated as
her trademark look. Like Nami, she seems to be fond of revealing
outfits, as she is frequently wearing somewhat revealing clothing that
are either dark in color (often black or purple) or consists of leather
(sometimes both). She is also fond of high heels, and they do not seem
to affect the way she walks or her speed.
Robin sometimes wears a gold arm band with white strings attached
to it and the letter N on it, which stands for her family name, and
also had a similar one with BW on it, which stood for Baroque Works, but
she no longer wears it as she is no longer affiliated with the group;
she has also worn a cowgirl hat on numerous occasions.
In the Alabasta Arc,
she wore a skimpy cowgirl outfit consisting of a purple
cleavage-exposing corset and matching miniskirt, both with white
ornaments hanging from them, and a white fur-lined coat paired with a
white cowboy hat and white high-heeled boots.
In the Skypiea Arc,
she still wore her trademark white cowboy hat, along with a yellow
sleeveless shirt and purple pants reaching to her calves, with a simple
belt around her waist, and purple high-heeled Mary Janes. She sported
her white ornament on her left arm.
In the Water 7 and Enies Lobby Arc,
she wore a short, cleavage-revealing leather dress with long sleeves
over what looked like a lighter, white polka-dotted under dress. She
also wore black thigh high-heeled boots.
In the Post-Enies Lobby Arc, she was seen wearing a tight-fitting, red t-shirt that has the Galley-La
emblem at the front and a pair of black trousers. She also wore a pair
of white high-heeled shoes. Later, she replaced the T-shirt with a
tight, pinstriped purple buttoned sweater and dark high-heeled shoes.
In the Thriller Bark Arc,
she wore a short purple dress with lace embroidered edges, stockings
reaching up to her thighs held up by suspenders, and black high-heeled
boots with two lines of buttons on the front.
In the Spa Island Arc, she wore a pale pink, halter bikini top with pink straps that exposes her breasts, and a yellow towel draped around her waist.
In the Sabaody Archipelago Arc,
she wore a black (purple in the anime) outfit consisting of a cowboy
hat, a cleavage-revealing sleeveless shirt, with a wide, yellow collar
covered with black concentric circle motifs, matching pants reaching
down to her calves, and purple high-heeled Mary Janes. She also had a
string of round and yellow ornaments that hung loosely from around her
waist.
While imprisoned on Tequila Wolf,
Robin wore a single-piece blue prison jumpsuit, which was left open to
reveal her bosom, and had her hands restrained with chain-linked Kairoseki handcuffs.
After the Timeskip
From the Return to Sabaody Arc near the end of the Fishman Island Arc, Robin's
hair has grown longer, down to her lower back and is pulled back,
revealing more of her forehead and ears. Her outfit after the timeskip
now consists of a long pink sari-like skirt with a partially-zipped
purple leather vest with a V-neck line similar to Boa Hancock's
and a white rose printed on the left breast near the shoulder,
sunglasses, pink high heeled pumps, and a pink backpack. She wears
sunglasses which she hangs on her forehead and is seen wearing them
during the battle with the New Fishman Pirates in the Gyoncorde Plaza.
Like Nami, her breasts have gotten larger. In the anime, her skin
is much lighter in color after the timeskip. This skin tone is much
closer to what her skin tone has always been in the manga.
After the battle for Fishman Island, Robin wore a simple green V-neck one-piece dress. While exploring the Burning Lands of Punk Hazard during the Punk Hazard Arc with
some of her crewmates, Robin removes her dress due to the heat to
reveal a floral camisole and shorts underneath. She later ties her dress
around her waist as a makeshift skirt. She also has on very high heels
with this outfit and still wears her new trademark sunglasses over her
forehead. She later wears a long, spotted winter coat over this, while
on the Ice Lands of the island, which she took from a female member of Brownbeard'sCentaur Patrol Unit.
Body Measurements
The author has also replied to a fan's question to saying that right now Robin's measurements are as follows:
Her height is 188 cm (6'2"), making her the third tallest member of the Straw Hat Pirates, after Brook and Franky.
Her 3 measurements are (according to Sanji and series creator Eiichiro Oda in supplemental material) B99-W59-H89 (38"-23"-36"),[4] making her breasts an I-cup in Japan.
Miss All Sunday (ミス・オールサンデーMisu Ōrusandē?, Ms. Sunday (4Kids dub)); Devil Child (悪魔の子Akuma no Ko?); Light of the Revolution (革命の灯Kakumei no Tomoshibi?)
As the captain of the crew, Luffy has been recognized by the World
Government as the most dangerous member of the Straw Hats. Due to Luffy
being a relatively new pirate, the World Government originally did not
pay much attention to him. However, with each new outrageous exploit
Luffy and his crew have accomplished, their views on him have changed.
First bounty: 30,000,000 for defeating the three top pirates of East Blue.
Fourth bounty: 400,000,000 for some or all of the following: for defeating Gekko Moriah of the Shichibukai, for punching a World Noble, for breaking into and out of Impel Down along with 241 prisoners, for participating in the Whitebeard War, for ringing the Ox Bell (which was taken as an act of war), and for being the son of Revolutionary Dragon.
Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro
Recognized as a powerful fighter within the Straw Hats through his
battles with various opponents, Zoro is given a bounty by the World
Government with just as much recognition as Luffy in terms of being a
powerful threat.
First bounty: 60,000,000 for defeating Daz Bones and 100 bounty hunters in Whiskey Peak.
Second bounty: 120,000,000 for his involvement with his fellow Straw Hats in the Enies Lobby Incident and for defeating Kaku of the CP9.
Cat Burglar Nami
For her involvement with her fellow crew members in Enies Lobby and for defeating Kalifa of the CP9, Nami is recognized as a threat by the World Government and is given a bounty of 16,000,000.
While most of the other Straw Hats are impressed at having bounties,
Nami does not particularly like being a wanted person. Her picture was
taken under the false pretense of a reporter wanting to take her picture
for a magazine, hence the suggestive pose.
Sniper King Sogeking
For his involvement with his fellow crew members in Enies Lobby,
specifically burning the World Government flag and sniping off marines
on the Bridge of Hesitation, Usopp is recognized as a threat by the World Government and is given a bounty of 30,000,000.
Due to Usopp disguising himself as Sogeking at the time, the
authorities have attributed Usopp's bounty to his Sogeking persona.
While most people easily recognize Usopp as Sogeking, Luffy, Chopper,
and the people of Usopp's village (with the exception of Kaya and the former Usopp Pirates) do not realize that they are both the same person.
Black Leg Sanji
For his involvement with his fellow crew members in Enies Lobby, for defeating Jabra
of the CP9, and for closing the Gates of Justice, Sanji is recognized
as a threat by the World Government and is given a bounty of 77,000,000. However, because Attach
of the Marines forgot to remove the lens cap when taking the picture, a
proper picture of Sanji has not been taken. Instead, a crude drawing of
a person that barely looks like him
is substituted. This, along with other incidents involving the picture,
are part of a running gag on how Sanji has bad luck being recognized
because of his bounty image.
Cotton Candy Lover Chopper
Despite his involvement with his fellow crew members in Enies Lobby and defeating Kumadori
of the CP9, Chopper is mistaken for a pet due to his normal size and
appearance. Therefore, he is not considered much of a threat to the
World Government, and was given a measly 50 bounty.
Devil Child Nico Robin
While a cover story is given to the general public to explain Robin's
initial bounty, the actual reason is because the World Government sees
her ability to read Poneglyphs as a threat to world safety. After
joining up with the Straw Hats, however, the government's view of her
becomes more genuine.
First bounty: 79,000,000 for sinking six Buster Call battleships (in truth, for her ability to read Poneglyphs).
Second bounty: 80,000,000
for her involvement with her fellow Straw Hats in the Enies Lobby
incident (her wanted poster also gains a new picture).
Cyborg Franky
While his gang's
involvement in the invasion of Enies Lobby is overlooked, Franky's own
involvement with the Straw Hats is recognized. Along with burning the
blueprints for Pluton and defeating Fukuro of the CP9, Franky is recognized as a threat by the World Government and is given a bounty of 44,000,000.
Humming Brook
In his previous life, Brook had gained a bounty of 33,000,000
for piracy. This bounty and the picture accompanying it were issued
fifty years ago. After the timeskip, Brook's managers sell him out to
the Marines, allowing them to connect Brook's skeletal appearance to the
picture in the wanted poster. They also learned of his connection to
the Straw Hats.
